Tail docking is unjustified mutilation to the spine, muscles, tendons, and 7 pairs of highly sensitive nerves. There are 3 reasons people give:
1.To avoid tail damage in working dogs hunting through vegetation: To prevent it from getting damaged, you damage it? Brilliant. A Veterinary Record study shows that injury decrease is negligible(< 0.1%).
2.Hair can be fouled by feces: Cut it and wash it; simple.
3.To maintain breed standards: Change the standards. Docking is banned in 60% of the world. |

@HTTS76 because that's the breed standard. they crop the ears for appearence but it also helps them hear better & keep the ear canal dry so they dont get infections. you do it as puppies so they dont feel it as much & heal faster much like we do with children and their tonsels, and nobody says thats "cruel" or "inhumain". |

@SBombayW Really according to the American Kennel Club they are recognised, as are blue fawn and many other colours. I own a "BLUE" registered pedigree amstaff?? Anyway i was merely asking a question, i dont think the "laughing out loud" was needed. Do you? |

i was somewhat distracted while watching the because my amstaff was licking my ear. she's 8 years old and has been to 25 countries with me. Best dog ever. |

They look so much better without cropped ears. With full ears they would be less mean looking and probably appeal to more people (maybe even councillors). The judges want whole dogs - i.e. with their nuts, so why not whole dogs with ears. |
