Dog shows would be more interesting with off-lead dogs; a real temperament tester. |

@BullyBreedsAddict youre right. maybe i meant UKC GRCH apbts that are also shown in the AKC. it was 6 months ago when i said that so i dont fully remember what i meant. |

@Nutsack666:::
AKC doesn't have GRCH titles
There is no such thing as an AKC GRCH Amstaff |

i agree, but i dont have a problem with there being a few catchweight dogs here and there. i mean even in the olden days you would have some fairly large dogs. But there are way too many irresponsible breeders breeding am bullies, mixes, bandogges and whatever else they think they can make a buck on by selling ginormous pit bulls. |

Its true there are 75-80lb Amstaffs, but for pit bulls, one should really respect what they were bred for, and whether show or not, they should be light enough to work. The standard doesn't have a weight, but really there should be because some people just take that ''no weight limit'' and turn dogs into Huge dogs and call them pits. Really...they SHOULD be under 60. |

where did you get 52? There are plenty of AKC GRCH am staffs who weigh in at 75 lbs. UKC pit bulls are more like am staffs as well and plenty of there champs are 70+ ADBA dogs are much slimmer and are my prefrence. You dont see many of those dogs weighing over 50 |

Are you sure you're not talking about a APBT? Amstaffs are show bred; thicker and they just seem much larger (they are heavier; 55lb-65lb). APBT are slightly slimmer, just an inch taller and between 35 and 52lb. |

Well then I guess it's true that you're obviously NOT a vet. Those dogs are pure muscle. That's why they look "fat" to some people. |
