pinkbb13 I have a corgi and mini aussie mixed. She has the same sized tail as this dog. :) 04/25/2010 - 17:05:38
MTJessie Aussie Shepherds actually have a bob-tail gene and can be born with or without Tails, and I imagine the "miniature' version carries the gene also. So don't assume that an Aussie with no tail has been docked. =) 04/02/2010 - 11:40:02
candipoox Docked tails are also for sanitary issues, so the reasons for minis having it is the same as the large. They have large "pants" on their rears and feces will get stuck all in their tails and even "pants" if the pants arent trimmed around the anus. My mini does the same exact thing at the park. He cannot wait at all to get in! It's the best thing in the world to him. 12/14/2009 - 05:31:13

workingonmore CommanderROR, many aussies (toy, mini, and standard) are actually born with docked tails. Just an FYI (0: 08/27/2008 - 04:37:59
t1mpani The reason for the docked tails, originally, is the fact that the larger versions are used for herding cattle, and long tails will get stepped on. As to the miniatures--it's pretty much there so that they look like the big ones. 06/16/2008 - 20:25:13
