Our Airdale, Cosmo, used to love figs. He once ate an entire fig tree, starting with the fruit, then the leaves, then gnawed the entire tree until it was just a stumplet.
When I met him, he was about 8. I brought home figs from the grocery and he followed me into the kitchen and sat there, staring at the plastic bag on the counter. When my boyfriend arrived home school, he explained...about Cosmo's helpless addiction to figs...I confess, I used to buy them just for him after that!

aww, this is my dream. i wish i were there too! they're so cute! airedales are my favorite :D

I can imagine, I was only four when he passed away of old age but I was raised on Andy(our airedale) stories. He had quite a run, he ate an entire bag of chocolate chips(with half of the bag itself), a plastic jar of peanut butter , he chewed though an aluminum can of chow mein noodles and sucked the noodles out, a half dozen wax candles and a cheese wheel. Nothing was safe on our tables or counters, or in the pantry for that matter.

Oh how I understand what your mother meant xD, lately mine have developed taste for cardboard paper and there is no plant that they have not chewed on and tried it, few times ended up even with mild poisoning but they are quick learners. One of the males has developed a taste for grass roots, sniffs out the roots he likes and then digs them out and chews on it together with dirt also there are few vines in hedges that they really love to eat, local farmer give it to cows to improve lactation...
