Well here this probably isn't a puppy due to what other dogs are in the ring. Yes I know it may seem like it wont win, this is a double sided issue. Infact many people like their dogs shaved, but me and a almost every other person believe that the dog should be untouched (hair wise), who knows why they had to shave it or what? so I dont know :( Anyways the color texture and all that is normal in a Afghan, they come in MANY different types-depending on the breeder :) |

The first dog looks like maybe a puppy. It doesn't have the long, flowing, silky hair as the others. If not a puppy, was it in it's own category, or else how did it stand a chance of winning against the others? Also, I noticed that many Afghans have a darker color in the middle of the back, with the hair growing out of their sides, a few inches down from the very middle. Others dogs have color and texture consistency all over, from the very top. Why the difference? Is it just breeder preference? |

@ the 8:10 mark, you see to almost identical tri-colors. Are they likely siblings? I don't know how judges decide between dogs that are so close. But then, I don't understand how judges decide on best-of-group or best-in-show either when the dogs competing at that level are so good to begin with.The judges barely touch their skeletons, quickly skimming their fingertips over them. They spend a lot of time trotting around the ring. Is that the main criteria for winning? Attentiveness? Personality? |

At the 1:10 mark, the 3rd dog appears, with a handler who has a blue jacket and white pants. What color dog does the industry call that? I'd call it gray, but I've never see gray assigned as the color to an Afghan. I can't really get a good look at it from here. Is it considered silver, brindle, brown, or something else? If it's silver, it would have to be a very dark silver. |

@TrevMno1 ...LOL, you can adopt me. I am alone. I used to have a blonde, black masked Afghan named Picasso. He was my teddy bear. Someone stoled him from me, just before Xmas. I am not over it, even though it happened years ago. |

Ooh what a racket! Lovley dogs thoughh! My 15 Afghans at home are just as lovley.Lovley dogs, lovley. Me and Sue are going to look at another afghan on Saturday. Got the satnav on te mobile phone so we can get to the house. I said to Sue it's a good job we've got satnav all these places we go in search of afghans. Ooh, they're a compensation for not having any children. |
